ASA Hudson Chapter had an exciting tour of the Rondout Lighthouse in Kingston NY complete with a boat ride, museum tour and dinner meeting at Mariner’s Harbor.

ASA Hudson Chapter Officers and friends met for an organizational meeting at the Wiltwyck Country Club in Kinsgton NY, discussing events for the upcoming year, including hosting USPAP courses. We look forward to an exciting year ahead. Stay tuned!
September 2017 Meeting
ASA Hudson Chapter members gather on the porch of the Thomas Cole House while others stroll the property and view the exhibition of Sanford Gifford’s paintings on display. Following the tour and afternoon, we had dinner at The Port of Call restaurant on water’s edge where the creek and Hudson river converge. Our meeting was focused on the planning of our spring event in Binghamton NY.

CELEBRATING GRANDMA MOSES COUNTRY AND THE ARTIST!
Visit to The Historic Barns of Nipmooose, Buskirk, New York
With a lecture presentation by Bennington Museum’s curator Jamie Franklin, Grandma Moses.
The funds for the presentation at the Historic Barns of Nipmoose was Awarded to the Not for Profit, Civic and CulturaL Restoration Corpaoration through a grant sponsored by New York State Council of the Arts de-centralization grant.

Visit to Union College and tour an architectural treasure The Nott Memorial Building, one of the few 16 sided stone masonry buildings in the USA. Interim President, Dean of Faculty and Professor Emeritus, Jim Underwood will personally host a private tour.
Following the tour we dined nearby in Schenectady’s Historic Stockade District at Chez Nous. 707 Union Street, Schenectady, New York at 6:00pm
FALL EVENTS 2016
October 25, 2016 Special Reception was held at CALDWELL GALLERY HUDSON, 355 Warren Street, Hudson, New York, hosted by Jay Caldwell.
Private viewing of exhibition presented by Jay Caldwell, Caldwell Gallery showing Easton Pribble paintings and the gallery’s collection, followed by a discussion of Artist’s estates—The important role of a reputable gallery retaining the reputation building a market preserving the legacy.
A lively discussion of value versus price, the artist’s reputation, development of a market, transparency, and the selection of the works represented, was followed by a dinner at the Helsinski House in Hudson. Jay Caldwell was the Chapter’s guest.

ALBANY CAPITAL STEPS
- Sculpture Talk On Monument to General Sheridan
- Swearing In of Officers on the steps of the Capital.
100Th Anniversary of John Quincy Adam’s Wards’s sculpture installation of General Sheridan. J.Q.A.Ward died before the completion of the sculpture. Daniel Chester French a close friend and admirer of Ward completed the sculpture without charge in 1916.
Following the talk the attendees walked across State Street to enjoy a meal at Jack’s famous Oyster House.
